Joseph Kanee is a Partner at Edelsberg Law. His practice focuses on class action litigation across the country, representing clients in a wide range of consumer disputes. As a fierce consumer rights advocate, Joseph’s zealous approach to the law makes him a voracious advocate for his clients.

 

Joseph has experience litigating a broad range of consumer actions on both an individual and class-wide basis, including under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and various state privacy statutes. Joseph has substantial experience in complex class work, including undertaking leadership roles in multi-district litigation. Joseph was previously a partner at Marcus & Zelman, LLC, where he managed the firm’s Florida portfolio and lead the firm’s class action practice. 

 

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Joseph graduated magna cum laude from both the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit-Mercy, where he obtained juris doctorates in both Canada and the United States through the universities’ joint Dual JD Program. During this time, Joseph interned with the Honorable R. Steven Whalen, Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Prior to law school, Joseph earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of Toronto, where he was a member of the Varsity Lacrosse team.
